Technologies are all around us and have the power to hugely influence our lives, so why not use them to make ourselves feel better? On that note, psychologists have been working with Behavioral intervention technologies (BITs) to promote well-being and even help with depression. Stephen Schueller from Northwestern University gave a lecture today at the UT to explain more about it.

Positive design: Can products make us happy?

'Objects themselves don´t lead to happiness, but they enable and inspire people to engage in activities that make them happy,' says Pieter Desmet from TU Delft. On the 19th of January 2016, Prof. Desmet visited DesignLab at the University of Twente to share his knowledge and work in the field of Positive Design, which uses the principles of positive psychology to create products that contribute to people´s wellbeing.

BE COOL! Design moon houses

Gifted pupils in primary schools mostly read textbooks or work on individual assignments. But not children participating in BE COOL!-project. Those students get to design moon houses. The project introduces a new type of learning method built on collaboration and Alieke van Dijk is there to design and research this new educational approach.
