Stop per direct met het werven van internationale studenten. Dat was vlak voor kerst de boodschap van minister Dijkgraaf (OCW) aan hogeronderwijsinstellingen. Op korte termijn hoeft de UT geen activiteiten te schrappen, laat woordvoerder Laurens van der Velde weten. ‘Maar wat de maatregel precies voor ons betekent, moeten we nog onderzoeken.’

Suspend the recruitment of international students at once. This was the message of minister Dijkgraaf (Education, Culture and Science) to universities. Spokesperson Laurens van der Velde states that on the short term, the UT does not need to cancel any activities. ‘But we still have to find out what it precisely is that the measure implies for us.’

NewsJaarwisseling op campus: drie ziekenhuisbezoeken en brandjes
Drie feestgangers op de campus moesten vanwege verwondingen naar het ziekenhuis tijdens oud en nieuw. Ook werden enkele vuurtjes gesticht. Dat meldt hoofd beveiliging Benno Kiers. De politie en brandweer hoefden evenwel niet uit te rukken naar de UT.

Three partygoers on campus had to go to hospital due to injuries during New Year's Eve. Several small fires were also set. This is reported by head of security Benno Kiers. The police and fire brigade, however, did not have to intervene at the UT.
